believe me... if that were the only problem... the trans would be in already..

the other MAJOR obsticle (sp?) that I have is the wiring of the transmission... the sensors on the AT trans are TOTALLY different (connector and sensor) from the MT transmission. Also the ABS system works differently with the AT and MT transmissions. Even though I do NOT wire in the DCCD system there is no telling if my ABS system will actually function correctly since it is wired somehow into the ECU...etc.

Even starting the car will be a pain in the *** since I can only start the car in P and N (though in MT I can get it into N) and I do not have the same type of nuetral position sensor either.

Taking out the key from the ignition will be ANOTHER factor to add to that pile-o-**** that I have to deal with. if it doesn't know that it's in nuetral..etc. I will NOT be able to take the key out of the ignition.

IF and only IF i decide to rewire the whole car (which I'm thinking not) for MT my alarm that I just bought will not work since they will be taking it out of the car when doing the harness swap.

There are to many negatives than positives in this situation to continue...

I might be SELLING THE TRANS...etc. Anyone interested?

Jon

yeah nate sent me those links... I don't think it's the same wiring as the 02-03 WRX 4EAT

I posted up what type of tranny I have and if it's the same then I might go ahead with the swap... however I don't know if I'll be able to have full ABS control...etc.

For sure, everything but the ABS will work. I have talked to one guy that said his abs worked from the get go. Do it. You already have all the parts you need minus a few resistors.

there is no EXACT wiring that I can use though... just cutting wires and splicing them somewhere isn't my idea of a GOOD JOB!
