I have a 98 rs also. There aren't really any choices for the 98. The intake I wanted to get was the cobb intake, but they told me that they don't plan on making an intake for the 98 rs. All I see that are currently available is the injen cai, and those don't seem to get any good reviews performance wise, just a nice bling factor. I've looked into others, such as the rally spec, but those aren't being made anymore. GL if you find any good ones, inform me.

I have an Injen CAI on my 98 rs. Had it for over a year now. It works well, with some noticeable gains. The best part is the sound. even without a new exhaust system, it makes the stock engine sound great. i would highly recomend.

i say best bang for the buck would be an ebay cold air intake, they are basicly the same as any name brand one, only about 1/8 of the price, ebay is an awesome place for mods, like UD pulleys, exhausts, bla bla bla
I don't know if you could still find them all, but https://www.i-club.com/forums/engine-power-non-turbo-all-non-turbo-imprezas-61/whats-best-intake-647/ has a fairly comprehensive list of intakes for our NA cars. If it matters, I have a ganzflow which I got for like 50 a few months ago

no, in fact im not
kidding about ebay intakes...well let me see arent ALL intakes some kind of a metal or aluminum tube? with some sort of maf adaptor (if applicable) so explain to me why in gods name a piece of tube would need to be name brand? the intake i bought is an exact replica of a 2.5 RS injen intake, and i payed 18 bucks for it, with filter, minus the sticker that says injen! so go ahead and pay 300+ dollars for your TUBE, whatever makes you sleep soundly *rolls eyes*

<applause> the only intakes i've seen on ebay are the ones that stick out about a foot from the throttle body without any of the holes drilled for the 4 hoses that need to be connected and without the MAF adapter. but yes, its all the same if you found or made a good one.
