Read this article on cobb's website. This gives a good definition of both MAP and MAF and would help you understand why BAN SUV's is telling you not to put an intake on a car with MAF.

I've read through all the posts regarding intakes and have looked at all the links but have a friend who owns a 95 Subaru Impreza Sedan AWD that would like to find a good intake. However, I can't seem to find anything listed for this year of car. Can anyone tell me what intake to use on this year and model Impreza?

His car would use the same intake as a '98 RS. However, if you've read all the info on this site, you'd have seen that the general consensus here is that older, MAF-based Imprezas are better off with the standard intake. I would not recommend anything other than the silencer removal for his car. Exhaust is a much better mod.

Thanks, I didn't know that the 98RS and the 95 Impreza could fit the same intakes.
I was looking at hte info on the MAF problems and it seems that it's mostly due to cheaper intakes that vibrated the MAF. Cobb intakes claims to have solved that problem according to their article. Anyone run a Cobb intake on a 95 Impreza with good results and no MAF problems?

hi everyone:
i have 98 2.2L obs. i install the injen air intake system and SPT exhaust system in my car. the sound is great and pickup very fast. but one thing i don't like it. that is cleaning the filter. (because the filter is inside the fender, i should take a while to get the filter come out ) except that, that is perfect intake system.
