Lately when driving in 5th gear, as I hit anywhere between say 2200 and 2800 rpm's, there will be a very small pop and then the car will surge ahead like it had been doing more work than necessary before. It doesn't feel like an engine problem to me. (Fuel pump, etc.) Also, when I come to a complete stop, there will be a similar (and i guess opposite) pop. I have aftermarket wheels/tires, but nothing else with the suspension. Could it be a bearing or bushing of some sort???

I'm thinking it might be a CV joint. Anyone had this problem?

bump, i think it is brake related, getting under the car today...not that anyone cares
