I installed a cold air intake on my 95 Impreza L 1.8L and it works fine but when i turn the A/C on and i let the engine idol it starts making weird sucking sounds (sounds jsut like a plunger in a toilet) and the RPM's go down almost to zero and then go back up to 1000 then back down to zero repeted untill i press the gas a little but today it finally stalled i knew it would one day but today it finally stalled out on me when i was idoling with the A/C on. I think the a/c worked fine with the stock intake but im not too sure. there are some pictures attached.
I have no idea what the big hose is, and i know that small hose is to my A/C and it sucks air but i have no idea where to put it??? Someone please help!!

Well, for starters I can tell you that that big hose it a vaccum line and needs to be hooked up through the intake, like it is on the stock pipe. Sounds like you need to compare the stock/new ones and figure it out, put on the stock pipe, or get another cai.

ya i talked to a mechanic today and he said i needed to put both those pipes into the CAI.

 

did you reset your ECU?

 

ya i took my battery out completly a while after i put the intake in and its still doing the same thing.

 

well, obviously if it worked fine in 'stock mode' then there is something you are doing wrong when you install the new intake..

 

i never used the A/c when i was in "stock mode"
