Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Stage 3 PefectPower6?

Hey everyone,

Has anyone done this yet? Any reliability issues of any sort? What kind of mods and numbers are you guys gettings? A friend of mine is eager to tune his 07 Impreza Rs and wants to figure out if it was worth or not. He was planning on a Cold air intake, Borla Header with stock catback, and Cobbtuning street cams. He wants the car to be powered up but without the sacrafice of making it loud.

Thanks,
Calvin

agreed, good luck, the headers are gonna give it a TERRIBLE sound on stock exhaust, it will sound like all the baffles in your muffler are broken

they make catbacks that aren't that loud, if anything they might even enhance the sound of the boxer engine...

if he is will to do the cam job and a header replace...he might as well throw a cat back on there as well

also do they make headers for the 2.5i that run with a cat? i've only seen 2 so far and both run catless

once he throws them cams on there, there isn't much he can do to keep it stock quiet. The car will sound nasty as hell though.

Thanks for the feedback, I thought just as much what the outcome would be.

I've got an Injen cold air and the SPT/Bosel exhaust and this does a great job of keep the noise down on my 06

FYI, the Borla headers won't fit the 06-07' RS - aka 2.5i.
Borla's are unequal length headers, while our stock headers are equal. Apparently, the oil pan has changed from the 05's to the 06's.

i dun think they even hv cams or 2.5i yet
also, if he wants power.... he should hav chosen an equal length header like obx....rallitek or cobb (new headers coming out this summer). Weld in a HFC, put the largest resonater in, and a stromung/ magnaflow muffler, n it will sound just fine.
Do not install the CAI unless he is tuning the car, cause it losses as much power as it gains.
