Removing Silencer On The Intake
I was wondering how to remove the silencer on the intake, if you can. My Girlfriends gone so I'm bored as hell. If you cant remove it, or if there isnt one then im stupid and forget all about it. But if you can, could you please tell me how, or what it looks like, thanks.

Alright yall its not over yet. I took the entire airbox off. And upon inspection, there is no silencer. If there is, then i cannot get that tubing off. Is it because maybe its a K&N airbox? I thought the guy just put a K&N sticker on it. Cause i know he said its the stock filter. I dunno im stumped. I pulled and pulled at that elbow, but it wouldnt move.

There is no intake silencer on a MY00/01. That's why I asked. Time to make your own intake. Pull all the tubing off from airbox (the blue arrow). Goto home depot and grab some dryer ducting and a hose clamp. Slip it over the outlet from the airbox and run it into the fender. It might not look the best, but trust me it works.

The dryer duct intake is as effective as almost any method. If you are concerned about it not being pretty, you can always replace it later with a $55 PDM intake (under Subaru Corner at www.pdm-racing.com ). Mechanically, it is the same as a Ganzflow/PDM style intake to follow JC's advice.
