Time to Spend some dough
I get to do some tweaking on my 96 Outback. My wifes stipulation is its not loud when I get done, and It won't wreck gas mileage. (it is still the Family car)
So I was thinking a couple things I might do is a MSD ignition the MSD DIS-2. I am not racing this thing I just want it to be a little quicker. Do I want the 6211 or the 62111 Anyone with expierience with this let me know.
Is there a high performance coil out there that might give me more performance mine should probably be replaced anyway?
I want to get high performance wires and better plugs any suggestions?
I was also thinking the Mr. joshs light weight pulley its the same size as factory only 4lbs. lighter.
I might even get a little better gas mileage when I get done with this stuff!!!
Any other suggestions let me know. Let me know good spots to get this stuff to not many places in S. Minnesota to get this stuff

I dont know of anyone doing performance ignition stuff on N/A subaru's so I have no idea. Definatly go with the pulley and maybe try removing the silencer on the Intake to see if its not to loud or not and if it helps with power. As for plugs, get some NGK plugs and wires, or maybe magnacor wires, those are the commonly used ones by folks on the club.

ignition mods dont help much at all with subarus as they have a really high power coil from the factory, you might want to get some denso or NGK plugs, but thats as far as i would go with ignition. Mr Josh's pulley is a pretty good idea, not too hard to install, same size as stock and frees up a boatload of weight on the crank pulley. do not go underdrive it isnt worth the problems. you should do the snorkelectomy, as it wont be much louder than stock at all, but will provide a little more air. a random tech single high flow cat adds a little bit of power too, but i am not sure how loud that would make it with the stock exhaust.

its a 2.5.
I am thinking from the response I have gotten, not to do a ignition amplifierbut instead to do a chip, the snorkelectomy, and the lighter pulley. What brands of chips are there and what would you recommend or is this going to hurt my gas mileage under normal driving.

You got a stick or auto?
Pro-ECM would be my suggestion. I believe you already run premium, if not you'll need to run at least mid-grade now. Between that and pulleys, you *should* see a decent increase in mileage. You can get it and pulleys at...

OR get in on the group buy...
