question on custom stright pipe from headers back
i have a 1996 subaru 2.2 LX impreza and i was going to put on the new headers cold air intake and have a custom sright pipe made for my sub (no cat) with a muffler. But i had a couple questions before i do this. Would i lose back pressure, and would my car back firer? also how loud do u think it would be? and would it sound good?
thanks
Trevor

With straight pipes you almost lose backpressure (there is still some due to bends) which is a good thing, because street motors use the backpressure to close the exhaust valves shut, and most straight pipes tend to backfire, although I am not so sure on that one.
It is going to sound loud, extremely loud, you will not have very much of a tone it is just rediculously loud, but if that is what y ou are going for, by all means.
