Question about getting performance mods

If you get the performance mods like intake, exhaust, headers, etc. will the air/fuel mixture be unbalanced? Basically, do you need to tune your car after the mods?

Doing just bolt-ons will make your non-turbo Scoob faster. Tuning it with engine management will make it faster than that. But I would not say you "need" to adjust your engine management for simple bolt-ons like exhaust and intake or pullies.

EDIT: Except for intakes on MAF-based engines. I wouldn't do those without at least an S-AFC.

Is there a particular place one needs to go to get the tune up? Or can I just visit a Goodyear and get it done?

I dont think Jiffy Lube will know how to tune engine management, lol. You'll need to find a good tuning shop for that.

so in order to expand the hp after the bolt-ons, one must goto a tuning shop.....ditto...
so...does anyone have any recomendations in san francisco/bay area?

i see.. so what kind of performance mods would you definitely need to get a tune up after? Cams? Headers?

Vishnu is a good tuning place in the bay area.

Like ban said you don't really NEED per say air fuel tuning until you are adding a great deal more of either one then your average N/A bolt ons can deliver. But tuning will make it run more reliably along with the added power it will net.

I'd say once you are getting to intake/exhaust/headers/cams/etc etc the tuning would be a worthwhile idea.
