parking lights always on

Car Info: 2001 impreza 2.5rs

parking lights always on

I have a 2001 2.5rs. The parking lights stay on when the switch is off. Could this be a switch problem or is it more to it?

There's a switch on top of the steering column. this happens to every new subaru owner at least once.
