no it wont, you must find the year of RS that is mass air, even if its older, it will work

 

there arent any intakes for 05s yet. no other ones will work. injens intake should be out soon. go search nasioc for that. 05 are MAF not MAP. they changed it.

 

I have a cold air on my 2000 RS and I really dont like the thing. We have had a really wet winter here in SoCal and the thing is just a pain in the ***. I "winterized" to be safe, but that just made it sound even more rice. I would just go with a high quality pannel filter if I were you. You are not going to notice gains with the CAI anyway. Just my opinion though...

no noticible gains huh?....and how does an intake make your car sound "ricey"

 

a short ram will get you 10 hp, a cold air will get you more, also, dont listen to the other guys, any intake designed for a MASS AIR 2.5 will work for you. In 05 they switched back to mass air, and changed the intake manifold around a bit, but they didnt relocate it...it will work just fine, just make sure the intake you decide on is made for mass air. good luck!

 

awdimpreza. ur wrong. flat out. there is a new thing on the MAF that 98s and 99s dont ahve. thats why 05s ahve liek 3 more hp. the new intake system. why dont u ask cobb why their 1999 rs intake wont fit an 05. they are amking one specifically for the 05s. injen is also makeing a specific intake for the 05. dont go telling ppl lies.

 

go search nasioc. there is a whole thread about hte injen intake that shoudl be out really soon. dont listen to these ppl who dont ahve 05s. ive been waiting for an intake for 05s for over 6 months.

 

what are the first ricer mods? I/H/E. intake gives the car a distinct sound. you can almost always tell when someone has a intake. since just about evey ricer has an intake, intake sound = ricey

 

so are there any cold are intakes for 2005 2.5RS or not? I thought the fitting would be the same as the WRX.

Also what's with the "rice" thing going on? u all driving Subaru, how much more ricey can ya get?

 

I work at a freaking subaru dealer, the 05s got new intake MANIFOLD, and went back to MAF, and switched to ELECTRONIC THROTTLE...THAT IS HOW THEY GOT 3 HP

 

Far as I know the 2.5 Impreza RS is still 165hp, take a look at the web site. But that's splitting hairs I guess.

The legacy is 168.

 

every n/a 2.5 for 2005 has 168, the engines are identical
