help with replacing the air filter!
hey all, i'm a recent member to i-club and was hoping you guys could help me out.
i know this is supposed to be easy but i need some advice here as i'm a novice:
trying to change the stock air filter for an '04 RS. i know the bolt comes off and the 3 clips unclip. i separate the back cover from the front as best as i can, but for some reason it just doesn't seem to give me enough room to yank out the filter. am i doing something wrong here? i have completely detached the rear panel from the front, yet i cant seem to snag enough room... it's close, but not quite. is it supposed to be this tight of space? i seem to have less room on the left side (facing the engine, where the intake pipe leads to the fender). do i need 2 more hands? is the rear panel supposed to tilt (on an angle), or come off parallel to the front cover for proper removal?
thanks for any assistance!

Take the two hose clamps and loosen them, removing the center section of the intake hose. Box should now be naked, so to speak. Snap the two front clips off the top of the box. Take the cover and lift towards the engine and LIFT up straight.
There is the panel, pull it out and do the opposite to re-install. That is, put the rear of the box (next to engine) back into the flanges on the bottom of the box. Swing the top towards the fender and snap it shut. Replace the center section of the intake hose.
Done right this should take 1/2 Corona!
thanks NW OBS, your instructions sound like it's for a wrx? my RS airbox is located behind the engine, closer to the throttle body; anyway i managed to get a little more room to play with and got the job done, thanks again! it took about 1 full corona for me.
