Installed a HKS Super Hybrid Filter into the stock intake and reset the ECU recently, and I have to say it's pretty damn nice. Power delivery feels smoother and throttle response seems to have improved in comparison the stock WRX paper filter element. Even without the snorkel delete mod, induction sound grew louder and the turbo spooling is now audible.
Fitment is "just right". As others have stated, there is no rubber seal on the filter, only the plastic sealing edge of the plastic frame. Don't know if that will be an issue or not; personally doubt it will because it's been on the market for several years and I have yet to hear any problems about it. Will keep an eye out nonetheless.
Great mod. No complaints thus far. Will update thread with both positive and negative further feedback as needed.

Hey Javier, what's shakin'?
I actually bought it off of Hella Flush Wagon Joe
I think most tuning shops should have it or can order it at MSRP ($45) or perhaps less.

+1... doubt it as well. i was running a K&N drop-in filter and someone told me that they used oil and thats bad for MAF sensor. when i unscrwed the sensor from the intake i cleaned it with a cottton swab and it was DIRTY (popular high school cheerleader dirty) and after cleaning it and changing to the stock filter my car felt better. that was probably throwing off my intake readings.

Yeah, oil fouling from the K&N seems to be pretty common. Lucky you didn't throw any CELs.
And damn, I miss high school cheerleaders hahahaha

But then again, I didn't put very many miles on since then. What was at the time a preemptive purchase had become a necessary maintenance purchase this past weekend
