Question HELP! Cooling problem with 1.8L

Ok, we've got a problem. The car is overheating when in gear, but the moment I stop and its idling it goes back to normal. Is the problem the thermostat? I just replaced it at the beginning of the year with an radiator drain and flush. Anyone have an idea?

Do you have air bubbles in the radiator?

Not that I know of. I'm going to take a look at the cooling system this Saturday. I'll look to see if there are any bubbles. Thanks for the advice.

If it is indeed the thermostat get the crucial racing coolstat. But just check for air bubbles. Turn the heater on all the way and let the car run with the cap off. Fill with mixed coolant 50/50 accordingly. Good Luck.

Faulty radiator cooling fan sensor?? Are the fans turning on as needed?

as for the bubbles like strider mentioned. Peer down the radiator and get a mate (or push on throttle) to rev it. See if there are any air bubbles coming to the surface of the radiator. If so it'll be a blown head gasket
