EJ18..Shifting..

I shift my Ej18 Impreza at approximately 4000 RPM because this is where I feel it shifts best, and sounds like its at the right spot..

Is this causing any real wear on the engine or drive components...4000 RPM?

i dont think it does any wear to the engine, i shift mines at around 7:banana:

if you Launch you car at 4krpm it may hurt the car but as far as regular driving you are okay. If you launch the car ar 4krpm you can stress the drivetrain because unlike RWD and FWD cars they will just slip (burn out) but in a AWD car it wants to bite. I shift at 4krpm for regular driving and Im sure alot of ppl do. Have fun with the car cause it wants to have fun when it goes past 4krpm.

I shift at redline in my EJ18. Its too slow to be fidding around at 4000rpms!!!

heh I have the 4EAT Ej18 version of the car.. it's slow.. I find myself all the time pressing the Throttle to the floor.. Most of the time on take off.. around towns as well..I shift my Scooby sometime at 6000 rpms.. Stupid fuel cut off kicks in
