Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

best way to clean ur IAC??????

best way to clean ur IAC??????

anyone know how to clean the iac control valve? not just the spout/tip i mean inside it as well. gunk does get inside and slows down the stepper motor screw. wnat to know how to clean that????

take it out and spray the **** out of it with carb cleaner and blow out with compressed air
its what all the xt-6 guys do

I had a problem with the iac in my 03 wrx a few months ago, tried cleaning it an ended up needing a new one.

yeah im kind of leary about sraying the f*** out of it because im sure the coils inside are coated with some type of weather/corrosion proof protectent and the cleaner will clean it right off causing it to short or ground out.

input????

the motor is a sealed unit and spraying into it will not harm it because if it would dont you think that the oil would cause a short first?

thanks for ur help, but they are not sealed. thats the main cause of iac to go bad is all the grim, gunk, getting inside(right behind the tip) on the stepper screw it self where the threads of the screw is and causing it to not move or move slower than the ecu wants.

if u have oil that makes it in ur throtle body to ur IAC thats a prob.
