1.8 Stalling Like MADD!
i have a 95 impreza L. 1.8L, fwd, no mods, just a daily driver, and it will not stop stalling. i have replaced numerous things and the problem persists.
fuel pump relay
fuel filter
check valve on evap canister
camshaft pos sensor
crankshaft pos sensor
coil
plugs
wires
i am completely out of ideas and cannot figure it out. it will do it at lights when at idle, just quits running. no bogging or puttering. it will do it at WOT on the highway, just stop running. turn the key off, and back on and it starts right up. i dont understand. anyone have any ideas? im desperate! i need my car.
thanks!!!

the idle air control valve was indeed gunked up, but i cleaned it out, and she's fine. its not the MAF because it will stall with/without it plugged in.
i started it today at work, and after a couple minutes, it stalled out. after waiting a couple minutes, i restarted it, and it ran flawlessly for 2 hours.
i dont get it. there should be a check engine light for sumthin like this, but it isn't coming on.

thats one drawback to obd1 they arent anywhere close to as sensitive as obd2, i got a CEL for a cracked hose on my iac, "fuel trim" code.....disconnect your battery and step on your brakes, let it sit for 10 mins, that might clear whatever short term memory it has. my car ocassionally stalls. only when coming down from highway speeds, but its because of my intake ide say

well AWDimprezaL, you were right. with the MAF unplugged, that time at itdle it did stall. however, once we reset the codes, and unplugged the MAF, the car runs flawlessly. i tried cleaning the sensor wth rubbing alcohol, to fix it, but that didnt work.
so now i just drive around sucking up gas because the MAF is unplugged, and it runs fine. just wont let me rev over 4k. oh well.

you can try some carb cleaner but if it didnt work the maf might need to be replaced
look on ebay there are maf sensors on there for $50 used which is cheap because if you go to the stealership its $350
