Any Ideas??
Hey, I have a 2000 Subaru Impreza RS 2.5 and its completely stock. I have over 1000 dollars saved and I was wondering what would be the best way to spend it on my car. I would love to add more horsepower to my car and I would like some ideas on where to start..thanks

I think the best thing to do is suspension work first. Like the rear swaybar, endlinks, springs, and struts. Thats just a suggestion though. You could always get a cai from cobbtuning, borla headers, cat back exhaust, highflowcat stack from www.boxer4racing.com, and the list can go on. so happy tuning

I second the suspension suggestion... If you get more power frist, it won't be fun trying to control it on stock susp.
If you were only looking to spend ~$1000 on mods, total, then I would get an affordable spring/strut combo, a used 18 or 20mm rear sway bar, good tires (if you don't have some already), good brake pads, stainless brake lines, maybe a lightened crank pulley (cheap, easy, effective), and have a muffler shop fab you up a 2.25" or 2.5" cat-back (MUCH cheaper and more practical than pre-fab setups). I know you said you wanted horsepower, but I see these other things (susp., brakes) as just as important. If you are completely stock, I guarantee you that suspension mods will make the most noticable difference in the capability of your car.
You can go with the cobb stg1, but unless you will have more money in the near future to spend on mods, I'd think twice about paying for a name brand. I always prefer the bang-for-your-buck mods. But I admit, it would be different if I were rich.
PS: I wish I were in your position... have fun and choose wisely

i meant to say 30-40, but i said 40-50, i had a few drinks last night, but i guess its not out of the question, borla claims 18 HP from headers and catback, a pulley should be worth 5, an intake 10, and a flywheel should free up 10-20 at the wheels...i put a flywheel in my car...its an amazing mod!
if I had $1000 dollars I would spend it here....
