91 legacy turbo...ideas for mods
EJ20 heads. Before you go cranking the boost replace the heads, the DOHC will allow for more boost and bigger gain. They're cheap as hell. Timing belt while you're at it. V7 intake manifold with WRX TB. Again more space to cram in some boost. Dump the turbo and get a VF-34 or VF-39. TMIC will work fine. A STi pull off should do. Larger injectors, colder plugs, downpipe and you're ready to rock. Engine management could be an issue.

Haha, its funny when og gc8 guys meet leggy turbos. If your looking at mods for the ej22t, look no farther than oem parts. You can upgrade to a slanty intercooler and a td05-16g from pre-97 jdm imprezas. After that you can upgrade to the ej20g motor with its dohc heads and big intake manifold, and ecu. at that point, with just an exhaust, you should be around 240whp. There is alot more support over in the Pre-2002 Factory Turbo Powertrain section of Nasioc.
Basically, all the stock parts that came on (93-96) jdm STi's ej20g's are fittable onto your car. The ej22t is a stout shortblock that has been proven to handle over 350 whp for a long time. The problem is that the heads and intake manifold are pretty basic issue.
Anyways, pretty drunk at this party. Saw your post, if you need any help or parts, just come my way. Old-school suby turbos ftw.
