Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Heya nightraven, it really depends on what type / brand of springs you purchase.
I just got my Tein H-Techs installed.
I'll post up some pics.

06suba has his Tein S-Techs pics posted.
I'll post up mine and you can compare.

Originally I ordered Tanabe GF210 lowering springs.
Unfortunately it was 46 weeks backorder.
So i ended up with H-techs.

In the end, it really depends on your preference.
Also, later on in the future, you may want to invest in some new struts that are compatible with the lowering springs due to the fact that the lowering springs itself, will most likely kill your stock struts.

So this is how lowered it would be if you go with H-Techs.

Not too low, but you still receive the comfort.

looks good j-chow. i like the drop on it. now that im looking at the wingless, i'm starting to like that look more. cancel the order for the wing and spend that money on something else. keep the car lighter.

nightraven, you can also go with coilovers. I'm still looking around but it seems that the Tein basics are pretty good performance/ride quality wise.

a lot of people that buy coilovers rarely adjust them... i'd say go with some springs. they are A LOT CHEAPER. coilovers are like $1500 depending on what you go with springs are $200-$300.

Anyway, I went with the s-techs for looks... I wanted to eliminate the wheel gap. It looks like the h-techs basically do the same as well. COBB sport springs are nice too.

tein basics go for about 7-800. coilovers are a spring/strut combo and are choosen to work with each other. using springs is going to screw up ur struts, so ur eventually going to have to replace them anyways. so you end up not really saving much money. its more about ur personal preference of more performance, looks, or ride qualitiy. nightravne, read up unabomber's faq on NASIOC , its a great place to start.

I havent got it dynoed. Havent really got the availability for a dyno. Im guessing its the same hp+ as any other 3" diameter short ram will give ya. It was something i designed and built for my 06 2.5i since there isnt crap out there yet...

Which brings me to my next question... What parts if any are interchangable from sti/wrx models to the 2.5i. More specifically, those exhaust systems with the diagonally slanted muffler, you all know the bad *** ones im talking about... They have like 5 different ones out for wrx and sti,, will cat back work the same on 2.5i?? I really dont want to buy and weld a muffler on, Bolt on is what imlooking for..

And then what other parts will fit...

Strut tower bar, front Going on 3/26/06
silverstars already on
tint going on (5% rear 35% driver and pass) 4/2/06
exhaust soon hopefully
thule roof w/ snowboard 4/3/06
snow flaps soon, freakin snow is scratching up the stock skirt on my black 2.5i

thanks for the help peeps.

so I started the rim painting process this weekend. I bought all the supplies and began to sand one wheel, then I realized how much of a PITA it is to sand... so I finished sanding the one and put it back on... lol. I'm gonna finish the rest later this week, too distracted this weekend.

I decided on flat black with the clear coat... hope it looks good. Ill post pics this weekend~!

Thx raven.
I really doubt it would fit. . . (but what do i know?) . . . cause the 05 wrx has a turbo intake, and the engine management/setup is different in turbo engines compared to our NA engines.

That's my guess though . . .
I'll check out other forums for that.

oh yea. . FYI . . . don't assume that the clearance of your front bumper will clear those parking curbs like the ones from my pictures. heh . .. I learned it the hard way. Yep . . . minor scratches on my front bumper. . but on the underside, so it's not noticable from observing the exterior.

Now, I don't even ATTEMPT to clear those parking curbs. I don't even let my front bumper come close to them :P

lol tough break man. i hope those scratches arent too bad. i was looking at those pictures and i was thinking.. wow thats cutting it close, couple passenger's or one heavy person in the front seat would do it in.

o and just for general info, for clear coat scratches and swirls, use meguiars scratch-x. i got nicked on the side of my door a couple weeks ago and it came out quite nicely.

Car Info: Impreza 2.0R
Hey guys, I've been following this thread with great interest. I will be getting my car in a few days. My car is not an 2.0i though, it is a 2.0R. I have a feeling the R isn't in the US. My car has the wrx interior, full bucket seats etc and comes with a spoiler standard. Whats the engine in the i's like. How many Kw of power does it produce etc.
