dude..you need to set your goal. wat did you want to do? wat power levels do you want??
i dont think vf34 will do 300whp, unless it has good supporting mods, including front mount, injectors, fuel pumps, i would recommend to port your headers and add a crosspipe (much cheaper than buying a headers itself) plus its reliable compare to after market ( will crack overtime), AND you gotta a very good tune. just my 2 cent

dude, worry less about numbers, and more about how you want the car to drive. Do you want early boost with good torque early and decent pull through the powerband? Do you want big power after 4k RPMs all the way to redline? How do you drive your car?
If you want reliability, I would get a VF-22, 34, or 39. You will need a walbro, and an STI topmount would help. Ported manifolds do or do not help depending which tuner/shop you talk to, but they are by no means required. Same with a crosspipe.
A good tune is DEFINATELY required.

I would personally not bother with the VF34 on your setup, if your looking for something like that then perhaps look to get a used vf39 and STI TMIC from a STI owner upgrading and you'll be set for less than the price of the VF34.
A really good turbo on your car would be a TD06-18G which will have decent spool with conciderable top end gains, you will need a larger TMIC but the stock STI would work well.
Ported manifolds with Injen crosspipes will help for sure and will not crack (we run this setup on our race car and I am not telling you how much heat they see
)
