HAHA, it helps so search doesn't it? You'll love the mod. Make sure you take out the whole fender lining to take it out. I felt lazy and didn't take the whole liner out and it made finding some bolts a pain in the butt.

Talking did this mod on my 2002 WRX

I did this mod on my old 2002 WRX before I got my STI, and the problem i ran into is this... When you remove the "Snorkabus" Silencer the air now sucks from the fender. so going through deep puddles now is a no no because your engine will suck muddy water, and thats just not good at all, there is an alternitive out there to doing this. I found a small plastic mod that bypasses the silencer and takes the air from the intake vent pushing the air into the intake, now this is important because at higher speeds it forces air into the intake, which acts like extra turbo boost. so basicly its a bent elbow shaped things designed for our subaru's that just bypasses the silencer and still looks 100% stock unless you remove the inner fender. http://www.kastleskorner.com/store/p...oducts_id=1490

I removed mine on a 05' STi and I am very happy with it. I cant really say it offers a performace gain but it sure doesnt hurt. The most dramatic change is the lounder intake/spool/BOV sound, which I like. I recomend you just pull it off and if you dont like it put it back, its not rocket science. As far as water goes, I dont see it being a problem for me, but I try to stay out of the lakes.

it won't worth the effort to do that

you will lose torque by removing that piece

Im not flaming or anything here, so don’t get me wrong. But here is my little rant. All over the place I see people respond with comments like "you will lose HP", torque, "Catless DP makes way more power" ect. Where do people get this data? Do you really have that accurate of a "seat of the pants" dyno? I see alot people shooting figures as if they are hard fact... but I guess its the good old "%85 of all statistics are made up on the spot" deal. Take it with a grain of salt...

One of the first things I did was remvoe the silencer, which I can't say I felt any HP gain or torque loss, but it sure does sound better. I made a site about it.. check it out..
