if i do this then what parts will need to be replaced? or do i just need to connect or get rid of some parts?

You delete the 'snorkus'. At this point you can pitch the intake scoop (that pulls air from the front of the car) and just add a straight 3" (or curved) ABS pipe in the hole @ the airbox (which will pull cold air from the fender. OR, keep the intake scoop and buy a GP Moto 'U' that will connect the scoop back to the airbox.

*** I have run both ways and felt no difference with one over the other. So, I have chosen to pitch the large plastic scoop and go with a pipe right out of the air box into the inner fender. ***

Ace hardware. I think was about 6" long and I cut 3" off it, so it just pokes into the inner fender. It is fairly safe from water intrusion being that high in the fender (I live in Oregon) and our boxes are designed to hold any water under the filter as a secondary safe-guard.
