Modding 04' Sti
OK well... iam new to this forum... ive been broswing it for a long time now, but i have never really ran into problems with my car or questions. rigth now iam stuck... iam really not sure what mod to do next. as of rigth now... i have....
- borla catback
- invidia downpipe
- cobb AP with a 100 tune
- perrin crank pulley
- stronger clutch/flywheel
- tien flex coils/hotchkins sways/cusco struts
- iam pretty happy with the suspension as it is.... iam looking for more power... i eventually plan on a turbo upgrade.... so i was curious what internals i should start to upgrade first? annnnd..... what kind of power increase/ difference did STI owners notice when they upgraded there headers?

I would say start looking at effiency mods such as a larger radiator, a nice FMIC....get the heat out of the engine. After that look into water injection so you don't have to run 100 oct to make the numbers you want.
As for the header I run the BPM virtual header on my STI. I gained mid/high from this mod. Cheap too...it was a matched up-pipe and XVR, only leaving the factory cast pieces up to the heads. Keeps the boxer sound and performs well.
I have also had equal length headers on one of my WRXs.....changes the sound completley and shifts the power band way up the RPM range.
Good luck and cheers!
