Help modding my 05 sti

I was thinking of getting ecutek/tbe, but im worried about boost creep. I'm all about warranties and will pull tbe off when it makes dealer trips/ load stop software back on. Is it possible i will get boost creep? How can i avoid this?? Should i not get dp and just catback/ecu?? Thanks guys.

just get a catback and a good tune, otherwise you run the risk of getting caught...

if you get a TBE, all you need to combat boost creep is a good tune.

i heard porting the wastegate on the turbo was the only way to resolve the issue of boost creep. Im not sure if this would even really matter tho at the dealership unless they are actaully removing your turbo for some reason. But of coarse if your "all about the warranties" then it technically would probally void it.

You have to get your turbo ported, tuning won't do it. I also have an 05 STI. I just got a tbe and my turbo ported. I have had no problems at all and you can really feel a huge increase in power. This WILL void your warranty. The only way they would know your turbo is ported is if they actually took it off otherwise if you are concerned about the warranty just but your stock dp on for the trip. Hope this helps a little.

Sorry mate but a good tune wont cut it, boost creep is a mechanical problem that can be fudged somewhat with a reflash but not cured (try using 0 duty cycle for the wastegate as a cure up top and driving up the grapevine in winter) granted that work round may work on most peoples everyday roads but is hardly a fix.

To answer your question though, get a turboback, headers, fuel pump and reflash with your turbo wastegate ported you should gain about 50-60whp and about the same in tq.

Boost creep is typically induced by high load conditions, say getting on it hard in 5th on the freeway and staying on it. If you had a 3" catless system you would more than likely hit fuel cut due to overboosting from the creeping.
