Front mount Vs. Top mount

Curious if the extra horse you get from the fmic makes up for the delayed throtttle response?

Depends on what turbo you have on the car.
Stock turbo, just leave it as TMIC. 300hp and lower.

Anything from 16g or fp green, you might want to go with TMIC. 300hp and higher.

I would say that the FMIC is better for high HP setups and track racing requiring higher top speeds. TMIC for less hp setups and auto-x or rally-x that will require faster acceleration more than top speed.

This is tough. Both give gains....but...FMIC is superior imo...it is more expensive....it really depends on what you want out of the car.

You have to cut the bumper beam, which takes away resale value and is much more difficult to go back to stock. If you are planning on keeping the car for the long term however, the gains are great. Less heat soak, more cooling, more top end power. Yes throttle response may be an issue to some people, but its a TURBO car, if you dont like lag move to an NA setup. A bigger TMIC will give gains too, but will heatsoak and is also expensive. For bigger turbo setups and the right t00ner, FMIC all the way. Definetely talk with whover is tuning the car!

My 2 cents of course.

I would stay with a large top mount and a water spraying system to cool it off if you get too much heat soak.
