Fmic Question

I have an 07 wrx. If i were to buy and install an fmic, would I need to do any kind of tuning to the car, or would it give me power and work just fine?

u would have to buy COBB AP or go to tuning shop ..... not sure about giving u the power unless u upgrade ur turbo with it also ......just that more denser air pass and will keep the temperature down.

umm fmic wouldnt do any good but it may make your car run a little funny and some people say that when they have put a fmic on a car with stock tune they dont hit there target boost

Just put a fmic on my sti and waiting for my turbo before i get a tune. Highly recomend a tune with stock turbo, car is slower with more lag and retards the spark due to all the xtra air in piping. actually wouldnt buy a fmic without turbo upgrade!

DO NOT GET A FMIC WITH YOUR STOCK TURBO!.if you are on a stock turbo your stock tmic will flow ok, but for better power I would go with a sti tmic, but do not get a fmic with your stock turbo!

if you even get a FMIC you should: bigger turbo, injectors, fuel pump, AP, PRO TUNE!!!!!

ive known a couple guys that have done the mods right, but then didnt get it tuned and actually blew their engines...

You will be better off installing a STI TMIC with new hoses
instead.
FMIC and tune with the stock td04 will not benefit your vehicle
much.As Subaru_dude stated more denser air means lower
temperatures though.

Thx a lot guys! So you recommend an STi TMIC? Will it be a direct fit, or would I need to fab anything to make it fit? How much power increase can I expect? Btw I just put my oem bpv back on today and the car runs smoother.
