Lately it has been way under the freezing point here. For like the first 5 min of driving if I dont have time to let it warm up the STi sounds like cylinder head knock while driving untill it is warm, then the problem goes away, or if it is over 3000 rpm. When I let the car warm up it isnt there. I have the correct weight oil in it too. My 2003 WRX never made this sound. Is this just some cold motor noise I hear or what?

The cold-start valve tapping sound is normal for a Subaru. Make a note: Never try to sell a used Subaru to someone when it's cold out! If they aren't already aware of it, they will never believe you that the sound is normal.
