Talking 06 BOV install...WENT GREAT!!

hi guys,

well i just got my TURBO XS type H-RFL bov. the install was quick easy and painless. it took about 20 min. i'm a technican at dodge and this was a very easy install for me, anyone who knows how to turn a screw driver could do this install.

everyone on i hear from its talking about problems with there cars after bov installs. so far i have 2100 miles on my car the bov on for about 500 miles and no
problems yet. the only thing is at idle the car has a bit of a stumble if i come down to idle straight from blowing off. if i decel in a gear etc there is no problem at all. NONE!!! everything works fine.

when i put on the BOV the car would not idle at all. sounded like it was gonna stall out. i added 4 washers to the inside of the bov for more spring tension and the idle is great now. even on revinging it up, blow off and back down to idle is way better.

these are my 2 cents on the RFL bov. so far i love it.
i hope this is helpful to anyone on here.

thanks,
marcus

actually, the stumbling is one of the problems ppl don't like with BOVs. i didn't think there was much difference with my GFB BOV until i decided to run with the stock bypass valve for kicks. that's when i felt the difference with drivability especially throttle response. a long time later i borrowed a friend's blitz BOV and quickly went back to stock again. i'm not saying all BOVs are teh devil and certainly not crappy for all applications but don't be sold so fast.

No, it's not a good first mod. It just makes noise. Adds no power, can result in diminished driveability compared with stock. Tuning can restore driveability and can be done via reflash or Cobb AccessPORT device. Reflashed ECU must be mail order for Hawaii residents as there is no AWD chassis dynamometer available for dyno tuning.

I lost my downpipe.. my car was placed at the dealership after i had a bov for a month or so. Of course they replaced the downpipe and my car runs fine.

problems with my turbo xs type h.

1) idle drop
2) clogged up stock down pipe
3) washers dont help, it gives some air back into the intercooler > turbo and bOOM.
4) a weekend without my 06 tr...

lesson learned... and i just got my 3inch exhaust installed right b4 the dealership took my car for replacing the downpipe!!! =*( i missed it dearly.

Ive had sameone on my car, and I never had a problem. But I put stock back on and sold mine on ebay for one reason. MORE power with the stock by-pass. The whole vent to air really kills you during shifts.

i was thinking of getting a BOV...then i thought...its a big waste of $$$, usually screws up the idle...i think if i want that big WOOOOOSH sound...ill just buy a used APS or K/N Typhoon intake and have the same affect without the crappy idleness
