B,
I heard there's a different promoter at the W. Komo went to Pipeline on Saturdays. I'm interested to see what it's like. Lemme know!
Oh, and TTIWWP!

Maybe they found somewhere with more PARKING and SPACE...because lines freaking suck! That's why I hardly club anymore because I refuse to waste my life in a line. But of course that's a whole new argument.
I think most of these promoter guys have it all wrong as compared to the mainland. In the mainland, you have VIP hosts who stand outside and talk to people who have the financial means to buy bottles of champagne/wine which actually makes more money than shots or beer...plus the VIP hosts can negotiate prices. If the deal is struck with the hosts, then the VIP gets in and also gets a table. In Hawaii, the "VIP"s consist of friends of the promoters...most times they don't have the financial means to buy high priced drinks or anything else. If anything, these guys bring in more of a volume of people because they bring their friends but when you have too much volume, like at the W, you leave a lot of dead money outside because the line is too long. A lot of times the people outside who aren't VIP actually would've spent a lot more than the VIPs.
Basically, the only people that should get in for free really should just be hot chicks to entice high-dollar spenders to pay for VIP status. And that my friends, is why clubs/promotors in HI have a hard time making money and have to work harder than you'd think. It's not their faults though...most of them don't have actual business experience...but they do put together good parties
