Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

what should be my next mod ?

Hi,

Wonder what my next mod shoul be. My setup :

- full TBE with UP
- APSCAI
- VF34 + STI injectors + FP
- AVC-R @ 1 bar (A) and 1.35 bar (then decreasing)
- ~ S-AFC (DIY).

Should it be :

- FMIC (afraid of lag and is the VF34 "big" enough ?) ?
- headers (don't want to lose the boxer sound) : 4-2-1 or 4-1 ?
- turbo inlet hose ?
- lightened flywheel to have a lighter car ?

Thanks.

depending on your heat conditions.. of your list the FMIC in my opinion is the only worthwhile next mod. the vf34 is fine..turbo selection really is determined on your budget.

there are plenty of DIY mods that are free or very cheap that give some noticible gains.
ie, grounding mods, exhaust and intake manifold port matching, throttlebody port, throttle bodycoolant bypass, etc..

I'm no expert on the subject but I would think alcohol injection and a dyno tune would make a big difference http://www.smcenterprises.com/subaru.htm. For safety an egt gauge would also be a good Idea.

I'm planning on purchasing Zeitronix kit.

FMIC becomes necessary (because of heat).

You'll definitely get some good use out of the WB kit.
I havent seen the Zeitronix in person. im eyeing the innovate wb though it is bulky for mounting.

I already have Ferodo DS2500 pads + braided steel lines + AP Racing fluid.

I was asking which part for power ? I never forgot to upgrade handling and brakes

As for the headers, you'll only lose the boxer sound if you get equal length headers. The stock, as well as most aftermarket headers, have two long manifold pipes and two shorter ones because of the flat 4 design. Only if you get equal length headers will you lose the rumble.

you'll also lose low end spool time with headers...headers will actaully move part of the powerband up further the rpm range...in most cases a 500 rpm difference in spool time
