What I think I Know VRS The Truth, FMIC's.
O.k. folks, what are your thoughts on this?
It is my understanding that FMIC's, while adding more HP will increase lag. I'm pretty sure that plumbing diameter makes a difference in the amount of time it takes to build up pressure get a good response from the motor. The next logical jump would be that the increased distance required for that air to travel to and from an FMIC would necessitate a pressure drop and also cause more lag, not necessarily "turbo lag" but a lag in power either way. Is this a correct assumption?

Yes, that is true. That's why you shouldn't get a huge FMIC with a small turbo. If you don't flow enough CFM's, the FMIC will actually be a hinderance to your performance. It's better to go with a TMIC for a small turbo like the stocker or a VF series. But if you have a PE1820 or anything bigger, then for sure you can benefit from a FMIC.
