VF-30 Spiking bad
ok i jsut took off my vf-23 and replaced it with a vf-30
i have an uppipe downpipe cat back, samco hoses, hks bov, and the vf30. everything else is stock.
took the car out and in first and second it wil spike at .11 bar and come back to stock boost. in 3rd however it spiked to .13 bar and then came back down. also if i sdont romp on it in 3rd or 4th or even second it will spike then drop to like .7 bar then spike again and then come back and then spike.
is this just because my ecu was reset and its trying to figure out whats going on or do i need to get a manual boost controller and let it take care of everything. i am going to be upgrading fuel ecu and intercooler soon so dont tell me i need to. the vf-23 would spike for a second and then come back to stock boost. this one keeps spiking. any ideas.
also do turbos have a break in period? if so how long. and what do i need to do.

I have a VF-30 and I think engine managment is important...need enough fuel, do you have a CEL?
I get no spiking on my VF-30 and break in was recommended to be 200 miles, but I've seen others claim 500. During break in don't sit on high boost (ie don't do full boost for more than a few seconds at a time) between gears ie no pulls from 2nd to third or third to 4th....shift early and often
Hope this helps,
cheers

When Titan Motorsports put my VF30 on my WRX they told me I didn't have to worry about breaking it in. I drove home driving like a mad man. The very next day I went to the track. I've had my VF30 on my car for about 8 months and my turbo works perfectly.
Boost is steady and strong. I never have any boost spikes. I get Very little boost taper and pulls hard all the way into redline. I use Turboxs high performance boost controller.
I also ran with just the VF30, Turbo back exhaust, and boost controller. No other mods - stock computer, etc
Car ran great this way.
I drove my WRX like this for 2 months waiting for my Sti fuel injectors to come in from Japan. After the fuel pump, injectors, and stage 4 chip my WRX didn't run much faster.
I'm sure its a much safer setup but not much faster.
