Vacuum @ Idle HELP

I just installed a Defi D gauge, what's the vacuum reading at idle suppose to be? the D gauge reads "inHG" PSI

I drove around last night and the mechanical boost gauge was going all the way up to 22 PSI, I know that reading is not normal, and if I was really boosting 22psi the car would be a lot faster...

... but the cars power still feels the same, are these gauges inaccurate or do I have a defective one?

BTW, no mods at all and i'm using pressure readings from the manifold and not at the bypass valve, followed Defi instructions, I notice that some connect the "T" at the bov or stock recirc valve?

HELP...

Thanks all.

I read -10 to -20 inHg (inches of Mercury) at idle.

If it's a mechanical gauge it should zero out when you turn the car off, if not, it's busted.

22psi is too many. Most folks, and Subaru, recommend tapping the FPR line off the bypass valve, and using some sort of restrictor between the T and the gauge.

Good luck.

7 PSI when I turn it off, on idle it reads 0, today the damn thing shot up to 24 PSI's LOL
I sent an RMA request to optionimports but have not gotten a reply. I'll try on the phone tommorrow and see if I get a decent response.

Thanks

Basically, the gauge is just not zero'd. 24psi - 7psi = 17psi. Hopefully you're modded enough to handle that.
