Yes and no.

Most ppl keep their stock bov because of the bad things with aftermarket ones. You really shouldn't get a different one that makes a cool noise without really needing it with an upgraded turbo etc which may require and bigger bov.

Most ppl on this forum will tell you to do the snorkel delete mod to the car to be able to hear the intake and turbo more as well as a very subtle noise from the stock bov. Just type into google.com snorkel delete wrx or something like that and you should find direction on how to do this.

Lastly, If you really do not care about the effects of running an aftermarket bov, by all means go for it. I actually have one that came off a 2002 wrx if you are interested. Its a turbo xs rfl and it is the loudest made. PM if interested.

Hope this helps.

Take off the silencer on the intake and the stuff in the fender. You'll get the noise. Also comes with a cool sucking noise.

I still have my stock bpv on and it sounds like an atmospheric bov. Just keep modding your car and you'll eventually get there. lol

For the loud whoosh: Intake Silencer Delete, aftermarket intake, turbo inlet pipe with the stock bpv. Guaranteed Whoosh. Or like others said keep modding you'll get there.
