Turbo - Whine vs hiss

Turbo - Whine vs hiss
I recently had an up-pipe installed in my otherwise stock (except intercooler y-pipe) WRX. Now, when I get into boost I can definitely hear something, I am assuming its the turbo, but instead of a whine it's more of a hiss. Is this normal to hear?

It shouldn't be a hissing sound. The should be more of a high pitched whine. Maybe check and see if there is a leak in there somewhere. That would be the only thing I could think of.
