i was lookin at a couple posts and what does this mean ? can anyone help ? sorry im a noob

 

Knocking is when your car detonates or "pings" due to improper air fuel ratio or timing. In other words if you car is not tuned right for the mods you have your car may knock/ping. Bad gas or gas with lower octane rating then your ECU mapping requires can also cause knock.

 

knocking/ detonation is BAD. can result in a cracked (pick one) - piston, ring, sleeve.. but you'd know if that happened. check your plugs. they'll tell you whats going on with running too lean or rich.. but lean is worse then rich. too rich = loss in power, too lean you'll have power until something breaks!
