hi i got a 04 WRX with catback Exhaust only, All stock no work on the engine....
recently I been hearing some noise coming from the Turbo which I think it was from that it sounds like a rattle..I can hear the rattle the same time as the turbo Spool sounds.......The rattle was only for a second..I only hear it when my Boost goes up more than 10psi...My car runs smooth as I bought it and it seems like there is no changes on my boost or performance of the car....like I said there isnt any mods on the car except for the tube that I took out from the Stock Intake to make it quiet...(the one that attach to the snorkle) and that was a year ago.
Im thinking about taking this to the dealer and get it check and do you know how much will it cost me just for them to check it??
Anyway, anyone experience this or know whats goin on??

check all your heat sheilds etc. anything loose that can rattle on accel

 

yea man.. it's most likely your heat shield because, that's what happened to me... if you drive your car on long trip.. or quick hard boosts where you know your exhaust system is getting real hot.. then you might have cracked your Up-pipe heat shield.. and since it is next to the drive train.. that's whats probably making it rattle the most... not the turbo itself.. i think yer car would run like crap if it was yer turbo...

 

I agree it mite possibly be your heat shield.
Replace it if you have to.
