Turbo whistle turn into rattle (STi)

Hey, my 02 STi no longer whistles when the turbo kicks in, it sort of rattles - mechanic mentioned a leaking gasket (on up pipe/turbo) - I can just replace this gasket right? How much would this cost me?

Yes, however you may want to replace your turbo-to-downpipe gasket as well.

I just got a new TBE fitted - including the dp, so this will help?
And I am going to pay my mechanic to do it

about 1-2 hours of labor, gaskets are what? 15-20 bucks each?
