Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

I would hold off on the Frount mount till you get an upgrade turbo. Ive heard they actually loos PSi with a stock turbo because of all the piping the air has to go through to get to the turbo. laters Mikal

How about suspension

and brakes? And please don't listen to people who've "heard" you lose psi with a fmic. I'm on the stock turbo with a fmic and my car pulls hard up top. I haven't been passed by another WRX or an STI at open track. Seriously, you have to be able to stop, and the suspension should be looked at too.

Nothing wrong with a FMIC, but for a more even response (I miss open track days) for around the town driving, I'd get the bigger turbo first. You're not going to lose any pressure, you just have to fill all that tubing and larger IC. IF it were me, I would go bigger turbo, then FMIC. However, your car, your money. Also, oldmansan's car is awesome and runs GREAT.

Just my 2 cents worth.

FMIC = longer piping = more head loss than a TMIC

but the FMIC probably makes up for it by cooling the air more.

power is nothing without control! do your suspension and brake upgrades first before tackling power upgrades.

I just think that putting a FMIC and a stock turbo, yeah Im sure its gonna pull. I never said it wasnt going to pull, I just think your going to get better performance with a bigger turbo and the FMIC. And you might loose a little across the board with a stock turbo :-) laters Mikal
