Future mods and gauges
I'm going to be getting the accessport in a couple of months. No I haven't preordered. However, I'm looking in to getting some gauges to monitor my car.
I'm getting a boost gauge for sure, possibly an oil pressure gauge, an egt, or water temp gauge.
In my talon, I went with a mechanical boost gauge. But for my suby, I was considering electric. What are the cons to electric. I've been told in the past that mechanical gauges are more accurate and usually quicker. With the complexity of the suby ecu, I was thinking that the electric gauges would be fine.
Second, what is the normal oil pressure in an 03 wrx. I'm relatively new to my suby. I don't want to buy a gauge that doesn't read a high enough pressure. Same question regarding electric or mechanical (pros and cons).
Third, I know that egt gauges are for more modded cars than mine but I'm not even sure if I would tune my car my self. Electric vs. mechanical (if they make these in electric)
I not sure that a water temp. gauge would be useful for me because I don't sit in traffic, and a didn't autocross my car so I don't think over heating would be a problem. Electric vs. Mechanical (pros and cons)
I'm getting the autometer triple gauge pod that replaces the clock unit on the dash (they don't make one with less than three openings). I don't like a-pillar pods that much because I seemed to smack it with my hand in my talon all the time. I figure I might as well get three gauges I will need not just something to fill up the openings.
Any insight is appreciated.

I think this has been covered before, but anyway:
Cons to an electric gauge: Expensive. That's it.
Oil pressure: maxes out at around 90 psi on startup.
You already have a water temp gauge in your cluster.
I've never heard of a mechanical EGT gauge - they all use thermocouples.

Car Info: 2016 Acura RDX ... meh. Um, nice subwoofer?
I'd save your $ and get an oil temp and skip the oil pres and water temp. I mean if you're doing serious road racing of you have an insane setup they might be necessary... maybe. But boost, oil temp and egt is the way to go. If you get electronic, try to get one's which re-calibrate each time they start up.

This is a little off the subject but Ruby-Ru what color is your rex? I work in Grove City and have only seen two other rexes around other than mine and that is two silver ones. If you have seen me around I am in the Aspen White one with Zerosports Wing Risers. Let me know maybe we can meet up or something.

If I'm not mistaken, we talked one time at the Sheetz in Grove City. We talked about my Cobb tuning exhaust, and your risers.
If you want to meet up sometime, I'm game. My lady currently works saturdays, so I'm pretty much just hanging around Grove City during the weekends. Let me know.
I've heard that there are a bunch of WRX's in New Castle. Is that true? Drop me line at wrxjeremy@hotmail.com. Talk to ya later.
