Technically speaking, fiddling with anything, ANYTHING on your car can void the warranty if the dealer "says so". So just shove it back in and try not to make any marks or scratches in "interesting" places and you should be okay.
On a side note, a friend of mine was refused under-warranty engine work on his S2000 merely because he had Volk TE-37s on. The dealership refused to give him service til he slapped his stockers back on. So it's not just us Suby boys that get a hard time at the damn dealerships.

it only takes 5 minutes to put back on. if you're worried, just put it back on before you go back to the dealership

theworx: yeah I've heard about the consumers' law against it... I think it was called the Moss Act or something? But nonetheless, damn dealers still do as they please. Whaddya gonna do, take'em to court over refusal to fulfill warranty work? Probably not unless you're a lawyer, and in that case whaddya doing driving a WRX?! Shouldn't you at least be in an STi?
hashiriya: hisashiburi da ne? I've been here and there... since I'm still on winter break, I've haven't been on the boards as much instead of doing h/w or research

You actually don't even have to take them to court. There are a few cases on this forum and NASIOC that document the refusal of dealerships to warrant repairs on cars and in most of those cases all it took to resolve the problem was a call to the BBB. The BBB will look at the claim, then put pressure where pressure is due. Normally it works itself out. Dealerships are not an allmighty force, they have to abide by rules and laws just the same as everyone else. Unfortunately, most people do not realize this and are afraid to confront them.

In my particular situation, the BBB just assumed it was a misunderstanding between the establishment and myself so the incident was listed on their website as "resolved". I know it is far from resolved.
It's always worth a try though, you can file a complaint online.
That's interesting that you would say that. I don't have much experience with the BBB, I have never submitted a complaint, but of the people that have that I have read about, that action seems to have solved their problem.
