The ones that can easily can water into them are the CAI's(Cold Air Intake), they are they ones that have the pipe running from the throttle body down into a lower part of the car such as the fender, though if it is set up right you should have no problems, the best way to do it is to run it into the fender.
Your other option is to get a short ram, these are alot safer and easier to set-up but not as good as the CAI as they pick up hot air from the engine bay, unless you make some sort of heat-shield, but even then it will not be as good as a CAI. I guess the only advantage of the short-ram would be its short tubing which means quicker response.

Okay, the answer to the question that'll never die
-- CAI's like SHADO said have issues with water being pulled in. But that's not our main focus. Our main focus is this: intakes on the WRX are useless you're running either a new turbo, FMIC, or 300+ hp. All an intake does, whether short ram or CAI, is to throw CELs and in some cases actually inhibit performance on a stock WRX. My recommendation? Remove the silencer and install a Green panel filter. No CEL worries, slightly earlier and smoother turbo spool, maybe a negligible difference in horsepower and torque.
Summary: CAI = USELESS on the WRX, Short Ram = High performance WRXs only, and stock would benefit most from silencer removal and drop-in panel filter.
This subject has been beaten to death, and there is even a sticky at the top of the forum now to address this. NO MORE INTAKE QUESTIONS!!!!!!!

Oh, and on a side note... many companies like AEM have developed a CAI bypass valve that'll shut once water has been taken in. They demo'd it on an NSX with a fish tank full of water a few years ago to prove their point. But this has no significance whatsoever with us WRX owners.
