Cold Air Intake vs. Short Ram Intake
I Had Injen cai on my wrx before it got totaled BUT i have just bought another. It is stock and i am rebuilding. I am in Wisconsin, so i am wondering if maybe i should get a short intake. Lots of snow.freezing rain i am wondering how the filter isn't totally clogged for 4 months. I know that cold air is better than hot..duh.. but with the intercooler is it really that important. What should i do?

Short ram!
Not only are you dead on about the water and slush which could find its way into your fender well but CAI on a turbo is not realy doing much any chill will be offset by that little turbine running as hot as it can!
Short rams like the Blitz SUS and its newer version also do not do anything for performance , realy , but the sound is worth the price of admission!

Short Ram
AVO Turboworld has found the short ram has more power gain over the 'filter in fender' CAI. The length of the tube restricts, more than the cold gains. THe turbo produces so much heat compressing the air, that the slight difference in intake temp is insignifigant.
