Thumbs up Do it!

It will stop all the herky-jerky at low RPMs in 1st and 2nd (the poor engine is starving for air). It's a no brainer.

Pull the inner fender liner off the front passenger fender (simple plastic pop fasteners). Take the pass front tire off to make it easier. There is one bolt to remove the baffle (engine side of the fender). Throw in trash. Now, the simplest and cheapest thing to do at this point is get a 3" piece of straight ABS (Ace Hardware) and put it in the air box so it is sucking cold air from the fender. Throw all else in the dumpster as well (if turbo you will have the OEM 'cold air' intake snorkel). If this is to radical for you, buy a GP Moto elbow www.ipd.com for $45 to go between the air box and the 'cold air' intake. Remember to buy an OEM fender plug for the hole from the baffle in the inner fender if you go the straight 3" ABS route (keeps hot air and 'turbulence' from the inner fender area www.allsubaruparts.com has them for $2.

Do yourself a favor and drop a high flow air filter in the OEM box (K&N, Green, HKS).

Now you have one smooth puppy, with much better throttle feel and no more bucking!

the stock BPV is the best one you can have on a stock, or similar turbo.

that XSpower one is a CHEAP E-bay knock off one.

if you want cool noises comming from your car, i would suggest a shortram intake. you will get the cool turbo sounds and you will be able to hear the stock BPV just fine..

It makes the car sound slightly raspier. Also, I was boosting a full PSI less after installing it, but everything is back to normal after running HWG map.

also the outlet is much smaller than the outlet on the factory silencer, so it may flow less.
