Stock Turbo Failure
So yeah, I just recenetly had my factory turbo replaced under warranty at 49,xxx miles. The bearings went out on it causing it to make this horrible wail under boost until 4k rpm, BUT it still held boost.
So moving forward to today, I stop at the autoparts store, bought some new plugs, oil/fuel filter, tranny/diff fluid and stuff to drain and flush my coolant system. I figured I just crossed 50k miles and it needed to be done. I pull out on to the street after droppin near $100 on fluids, and i hear the damn noise that my car made before the turbo **** out the first time, but for only a second. The car begin driving really odd, and low and behold, it won't build boost, in any gear. No CEL, no noise, no nothing. Can't even hear it spool when revving at idle. Boost Gauge goes to right below zero and stays there.
The ****tty local Subaru Dealership says they can't even look at it until Monday, and I gotta go back to school 2 hrs away Monday. WTF happened to my car? Any ideas? I checked all the vacum lines I could see, the wastegate opened and closed fine, I'm stumped. Please help and tell me this is some stupid problem that can be fixed quickly. Thanks

Its entirely possible that you have another bad turbo?... make sure that the oil cooling line is attached to the turbo.... also its highly possible that they may have not precharged the turbo.... also make sure your not hearing any obvious leaks... especially from the up pipe.
I would take it back to the dealer and park it in front of the service gate.... they are responsible for servicing your car especially as it relates to warrenty work. If they didnt do the job correctly and its costing you in other area's then you are the priority ... amke them know it!!!.

Update:
I called the Subaru Dealership before they closed to see if they had found anything out. The service manager told me that a Tech had taken a look at it, couldn't figure out what was wrong, and would get to it on MONDAY....
First excuse they gave me was that my intake box cover was not properly latched (I assume trying to get out of paying for the Turbo, AGAIN)... Yeah, like the cover not having the latch securely closed would result in turbo failure. I explained to her that I had just finished doing maitnance work on the car before I brought it in and that the airbox being properly latched was the least of my worries at the time.
Then she said they had sent a tech home so they only had one on duty, the garage was filled, and they were extremely busy. She had asked where I had gotten the turbo recently replaced, and when I told her there, it shut her up pretty quickly.
So the earliest they can diagnose my car is Monday, and they said if they have to order parts, they won't be in until Thursday. This is my only car, and I bought a new car to avoid problems. Are they required to give me a loaner car? It's warranty work and it looks like it's gonna be in there for atleast a week.
As for the intercooler hoses and up-pipe, I hear no leaks at all. The car sounded just like it did before the turbo went out, minus all the spooling and BOV. Hasn't gotten any louder. I checked all the intercooler hoses and from what I could see, there were none that were cracked. After this debacle, I think it's time i give in and get some Samco's, just to be safe.

Sounds like you may have gotten a refurb/rebiuld turbo which isn't uncommon. I would put serious pressure on them. Tell them that anything wrong with the car..i.e. the intake latch was fine when you brought it in. Tell them that everyone is busy and that if the job was done properly in the fist place then they would be even less busier due to the fact that you wouldnt be there bothering them.
I would also investigate the possabilities of using another more competant dealer since the one your using seems to be obviouly lacking in any technical ability and or any diagnostic skills. As per the loaner i would think since this is warrenty work that yes they should give you something however dont expect them to offer it.... usually its first come first serve. I would call and insist that if the time estimate as they state it is then you should most certainly at the top of the list. If they give you any hard time get the names of the service department manager and speak to the dealer manager or owner and insist that this be a priorty or you will be calling a lawyer and most certainly SOA corporate office.
Get pissed already... you payed for it....

Update II:
The dealership called me Monday morning wondering if i still had my factory BOV. I tell them yes and ask why? The service manager tells me that the tech wants to put on the factory BOV to see if it's my aftermarket (Blitz SS) that's leaking....
Yeah, the tech thinks that a leaking BOV would cause the turbo to not spool, AT ALL....
So this left me with two options, get my factory BOV back down to Houston, 2 hours away, so this idiot tech can check it, or have them supply me with one, just to bolt on to see if it is the Blitz leaking, and CHARGE me for the price of a new BOV.
Fortunate for me, a buddy was going back to Houston, and took the factory BOV to the dealership for me. This was Monday afternoon. Now it's Tueday afternoon and I just spoke with the service manager. She informs me that the tech has just recently gotten around to putting the stock BOV on, but is still stumped as to the reason the turbo is still not boosting....
This is my only car, and it looks like they are on their way to having it in their gargae for the better part of two weeks if they have to order parts, I mean when they will eventually order a new turbo when they get their heads out of their asses. It seems like I'm being screwed by this dealership which is taking their sweet time on a problem they were supposed to have fixed not but 1000 miles ago.
What are my options here people? I've already come to the conclusion that my Wagon will never enter that dealership again, but what can I do for now? Is there a way i can make them make my car a priority? I bought it there, it's always been serviced there, but now that i'm having problems with it and the issue of a warranty fix comes up, they seem like they just don't care and are looking for an excuse to get out of it.
