Shell V-power Gasoline
I saw that there was this new stuff that Shell put out, I might just be stupid but I'm wondering if it's safe to use with our cars.

Supposedly Shell is going big with additives in their Premium gas, and leaving none for their other grades. My boss tells me that supposedly this stuff has a ****load.
I dunno, I've tried filling up from a quarter tank and I have no clue if it makes a difference. The main thing is that it is supposed to contain lots of cleaning additives, for a more efficient burn or whatnot. I guess the only people who could see pluses or minuses would be people who have highly tuned cars and can see every aspect of their fuel ratio, detonation etc..

I used to run a lot of Shell gas in my car when it was stock, and when i had my upgraded turbo. I didn't notice any difference between that and 76. now that my car is dyno tuned a bit more aggressively, i can tell a big difference. 76 seems to be the best in CA because all we get is 91 octane and most gas has MTBE in it still. Chevron seems to be ok too.
when i was driving through oregon and washington and could get 92 octane, it didn't seem to matter what brand it was.

I've been using Shell even before the upgrade and now that they upgraded, I see no difference. I want to wait for someone to come up with literature ont he subject with actual tests and what not but till then, I'm still using it.

Ok sounds good, I get 93 around where I live all the time, I was just making sure that the gas didn't contain stuff that might hurt my subie, since I have to be careful when go up north in corn country where they have alot of ethenol mixed gas or whatever.

If "V power " is Shell's excuse for being twenty cents more than the guy across the street , the can kiss my fuzzies.
All gas has additives and detergents in it. Some are patented such a s Techron etc. , but that is just for brand recognition and no excuse to justify exorbitant pricing.Heads up here , folks, fuel trucks fill up at the same refineries.
Paying for octane numbers at the track , for example, is acceptable , paying for their cute little , names ,jingles and Finding Nemo comercials is just way too Enron , excuse me , wrong.

its for the Honda owners.
but i seen that commercial, and it said that they put way more stuff in the gas then the other people. and i think it is supposed to clean your engine while you use it?

"Our exclusive formulation of Shell V-Power is designed to improve the handling of your vehicle, making it more agile and manoeuvrable than before. Get ready to rock."
quoted from www.shell.com
Just by reading that sentence makes me say bs, improve handling?????? gas makes power it doesn' make the car turn lol, I think shell is just trying too hard to get more customers.

I've never liked shell. I found it to make even low power cars sluggish. Although I haven't, I know many others with 1st hand accounts who've had problems with Chevron, intermittently. I've just stuck with 76, even though its usually more expensive than all others in San Francisco.

i posted this some where else already, here we have Sunoco, which i believe the only one that offers 94 around here, with Shells 93 (i have been using it before the V-power) the car feels better and i get more gas milege with it too. But i havent noticed any handling improvements with the new V-power, what a bunch of crap.

It looks like the V-power fuel is only available in Europe at the moment. Even so, I wonder which marketing genius dreamt up that claim about improving handling?
