Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

The 18g is a proven upgrade. It's like a 10 year old turbo.

I paid $425 for my UR 600 cc injectors. About the same price as STi pinks.

My tranny didn't last.. So I had to get the 6 speed. Downgrading to a vf34 doesnt mean your tranny is safe.

argh.. everyone can be right.. everyone has their own opinion and many tend to stand up for their setup. 18g vf34.. whatever.. as long as you get what you want and are happy with the result.. then it's all good

Exactly. And ilivas is right with both the 18G being a proven upgrade...cuz it is, and that your tranny is not necessarily safe with a VF34, but the 34 will be easier on the tranny than an 18G. Personally, I think the VF series is where it is at for daily driving, but thats my opinion...they have nice smooth spooling characteristics and offer decent increases over the stock TD04...but then it also depends on what you want out of the car and what you are willing to put up with on a daily basis. I personally dont mind the rough ride of coilovers and am willing to trade comfort for performance. Then again, I am 20 and thats pretty much all that matters to me right now...going fast, lol. I may change my mind later, but for now, Im willing to sacrafice confort for some serious fun performance, which is why I will be ditching the stock VF30 on my Ver. 7 STi EJ20, once its in the car anyway.

Its all a matter of personal opinion. So back to the original topic...I still think the VF39 on a USDM EJ205 would be a nice streetable upgrade over the stocker.
