Cool STI air filter

Anyone have an opinion or thoughts about the STI air filter for use on a regular WRX wagon?

Is there even a small noticeable difference in performance?

Would there be a noticeable difference in performance with a larger muffler?

Thanks,
-RB

Good to have, better than stock filter.

Is there even a small noticeable difference in performance?
Just a little smoother airflow.

Would there be a noticeable difference in performance with a larger muffler?
No, It won't make any different with just the larger muffler.

you still have to replace the sti filter right, and isn't it a bit expesive?

might be better to consider some other filters like K&N, MOBIL, Green. Just remember many people say there is no noticable difference in performance. I would rather get one of these filters, just my opinion.

I got mine for free with subaru bucks. If I would have had to pay for it I would have gone with Green.

STI filter is a bit expensive, but it's the best filter for stock intake system rather than OIL FILLED filter.

Go with the K&N, it's re-usable and cost effective. I installed mine @ 800 mi. or so and noticed that the engine seemed to rev a litter more freely than stock.
